Mustang Swim Team Wraps Up Final Dual Meet of Season

The Mustang Swim Team held its last dual competition against Frisco Wakeland on Tuesday, January 8 in Frisco. While the Mustangs were outscored by Wakeland, there were some noteworthy swims by the JJ Pearce team.

Sophomore Erika Casales had a great night with 1st place finishes in the 100 and 200 yard Freestyle events. Freshman Annette Mendez finished 1st in the 100 yard Butterfly and 2nd in the 200 yard Medley and Sophomore Sarah McNair took another 1st place finish in the 500 Freestyle.

Among the guys, Freshman Jack Hamilton took 1st in the 200 and 2nd in the 500 yard Freestyle events. Sophomore Blake Maczka placed 1st in the 500 yard Freestyle. Junior Rey Villano finished 2nd in the 200 yard Freestyle and Junior Yunpeng Zhang took 2nd in the 100 yard Freestyle.

The Mustangs' next competition is the District Meet on January 25 and 26. Good luck, Mustangs!
